Newtownabbey Racers - Special Olympics and Disability Athletics Club
The Great Jimmy Nolan - 1943-2014
Newtownabbey Racers would like to extend their deepest sympathies to the family of Jim Nolan. Jim sadly passed away on New Year's Day 2014. Jim was a valued member of the Newtownabbey racers coaching team, volunteering his time every week. Jim brought a wealth of athletics knowledge and lots of enthusiasm every week. Jim and his sense of humour, great commitment and encouragement will be sadly missed by all coaches and athletes.

Special Olympics Ireland Games
WHOOOO HOOOO!!  We are happy to announce that we have 5 athletes going to the Ireland Games in Limerick 2014.

We are very excited to have these athletes join Team Ulster!  Over the next few months these athletes will have extra training sessions with Team Ulster, focusing on the events they are entered in.  We wish the athletes all the best with the training and will update more on the games as they draw closer.

Best of luck to Six Mile Sharks who also have athletes competing in swimming!

James' Dad has Pedal Power!!
Parent of the Club Gary Dorman completed a grueling 740km cycle through the Alps from Lake Geneva to Antibes in France. Gary and a group of cyclists took on the challenge, most supporting great National Charities, but Gary wanted to support local charities Like us, Arnt we Glad he did?  Raising a HUGE £1250 for Racers and £3800 for Rosstulla School!  All fantastic Charities supported, we send out a heart felt thank you to Gary for taking on this challenge and supporting Racers - We are pretty sure a wee trip round the Alps was easy for a man at his young age ;)
